Wales still lead overall in the standings for this year.
We played 7 games. Lost two, drew one and won four. We are now through to the finals on the 24th November which is a Kent School Games qualifier. Well done to all children involved.
The children led a beautiful Remembrance Assembly today which was attended by Reverend Dawn Watson from St John the Baptist Church in Margate.
They read poems, made poppies and created artwork in Remembrance of those who may have lost their lives in conflicts over the years protecting our freedom.
They left their work in the hall afterwards to create their own Poppy Field.
Franca and Dario from the 101 social club in Cliftonville visited school today to work with York class during their Art lesson, creating lanterns with the children. It was lovely to receive this message from Franca this evening: -
Dario and I held a paper lantern making workshop this morning at Drapers Mills School beautifully coordinated by Gemma Comber. Gosh, the sweetness of those kids... I had to swallow my emotions for the entire time, put on a smile and refrain from hugging each one of them. One was worried that his lantern may not be as beautiful as the others', one just sat quietly and made one that was huge and different, one studied the most efficient system to manufacture more lanterns in the future, one made a mess with the glue but made others laugh, one wanted me to teach her Italian instead, one cried because of how frustrating it felt to stick the paper on the balloon without sticking it onto his fingers and then suddenly felt better and went back to it, one said he has a new pencil case and hugged me, a few joined forces and worked in team. Some lanterns were precise, some funky, some elegant, some sturdy, some delicate, some creative, some crazy, some small, some huge. They'll all shed their light in fantastic ways. This reminded me - not just in my mind but in my flesh and bones - of what it's like to be a child and to try to learn everything and to fit in and to make sense of so many things which can be very hard to process and to control, and that these children - as cheesy as this may sound - literally are the future of this community, so let's all focus on children first, that's it.
Congratulations to all of our children in Wales for winning the house point trophy this week.

Children in Need 2017
I am delighted to announce that Drapers Mills Primary Academy have been successful in their request to bring Pudsey Bear to school to promote Children in Need 2017. In Association with the BBC and Lloyds Bank, Pudsey will be visiting the school for an hour at 3.15 on Tuesday 14th November. He will be helping us to run a cake sale in the canteen to raise money for the Children in Need charity.
If you would like to bake a cake, or buy some cakes and then donate them to the school for us to sell on the day, then please let us have them by no later than midday on Tuesday 14th November. Any donations will be gratefully appreciated.
If you would like to come and see Pudsey, please be aware that both the BBC and Lloyds Bank may use photographic or video footage of the event for their own promotions and publicity.
We will also have a non-uniform day on Tuesday 14th November. Children and staff can wear anything ‘spotty’ for £1 donation to the charity.
