TKAT FESTIVAL KICKS OFF WITH A BANG!!!
The PE co-ordinators at Drapers Mills, Northdown, Newlands, Dame Janet and Salmestone have come together to organise a termly TKAT Inter Schools competition.
Each term, each school will host an event where schools compete for a TKAT trophy. The first event took place on Thursday 6th February with Newlands hosting an exciting Handball competition.
All five schools participated in the spirit of the games and produced some excellent Handball movements and high scoring games. Although it was a very close fought event, Dame Janet were crowned winners, after going unbeaten in all of their games. It most be noted that all children showed excellent sportsmanship during the event.
A big thank you to Newlands school for organising a fantastic first event of the year. We look forward to the next TKAT Festival event which is a Rugby competition held at Dame Janet during Term 4.
It's not only the pupils who will be competing for sporting pride during the TKAT events, as the staff will compete in a highly competitive dodgeball tournament at Northdown during Term 4 (more details to follow).
Once again, well done to all those children who participated - it is a proud and honourable thing to represent your school and you showed excellent sporting qualities that link to our school values.
