Thank you to all Grandparents who attend our inaugural Grandparents Afternoon to celebrate Grandparents Day on Sunday. It was lovely to see so many of you here to join in with your Grandchildren's learning. They had a lot of fun.
Last night in gardening club we welcomed some new faces as well as some regulars. We went over to the garden, so we could check on things we had grown last term.
And look at this....we had beetroots, tomatoes and carrots. We chopped the carrots and tomatoes up and everybody had a taste. We also planted some pumpkins although they may be more of a Christmas pumpkin than Halloween (maybe we could start a new trend!!!)
Here are some of the comments from the children....
"They were so sweet and juicy"
"They tasted much better than shop bought ones"
"I've really enjoyed gardening club"
"I loved digging and planting the best"
Everyone had a great time!
Congratulations to Harry Collington and Ryan Mondaye, both ex-pupils of Drapers Mills, who now hold the prestigious positions of Head Boy and Deputy Head Boy at Hartsdown Academy in Margate.
We are very proud of both boys who have shown that hard work and effort really do pay off and bring success.
We wish them all the very best for the next academic year in their new roles.
Our vision - Inspiring minds; Shaping futures - is not just words, but an ethos that runs throughout the school.
This year, our 23 classes are named after universities from all over Britain. We are passionate at Drapers Mills Primary Academy that all pupils have the right opportunities to succeed. Whilst our children are young, it is important from this very young age that all our pupils are aspirational and become aware of the possibilities that may lie ahead of them. We want them to understand that hard work will lead to achievement and will provide them with greater choices; the concept of continued education being a real possibility should they wish it. All of our children are proud to be associated with their class university and we are looking forward to their successes this year and graduating from their classes with honours!
