• Year 6 trip to The Globe Theatre, London

  Year 6 had a tour of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London today, which included delivering a few lines from the stage before competing a workshop with a Shakespearean Actor.

   

  The children look like they had a great time.

  

• House Point Award

  Congratulations to all the children in Wales who have won the House Point Trophy this week. 

   

  1st - Wales

• Attendance Award Winners

  Congratulations to Flamingos (year 1) for winning the Attendance Trophy this week with 97.6%.

   

  Elephants (year 4) were 2nd with 97.5%, Toucans (year 3) were 3rd with 97.3%.

   

  Unfortunately, Attendance Ted failed to make an appearance. He was unhappy with the overall attendance for the whole school for the week and said he would be back next week if everybody came to school.

• Take One 'Island' Day

  Many thanks to Ms Rees for organising today's 'Take One Island' activities. Our children spent the day learning about a historical or geographical aspect of the Isle of Thanet.

   

  Reception created a map of their outside area using a range of materials.

  Year 1 learnt about the Roman settlement that the school is built upon and created their own Roman towns.

  Year 2 visited Dane Park to compare it to what it was like in the past.

  Year 3 visited the windmill to see how flour was made.

  Year 4 visited the Tudor House and Margate Museum.

  Year 5 investigated the life of the Margate Giant, 'Richard Joy' and visited St Peters Church.

  Year 6 learnt about the war time shelter under the school.

   

  The children had lots of fun. You can see much of the work they completed in their class pages.
