  • A message from Mr Manclark

    Thu 21 Jul 2016

Dear Parents and carers, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support this year.  Since our Ofsted report in January 2016 where they noted us as a school that was ‘on the way up,’ we have been going from strength to strength with many successes to share. This year has seen our introduction of the new National Curriculum and life without levels. This has provided new challenges for all schools but we have felt incredibly proud of our Year 2 and year 6 children who took the new assessment systems in their stride, and to the all the teachers who continue to drive progress and attainment across the school. Our results have improved since last year, including our phonics results in Year 1.

We must also remember the success of the Family team with their Kent Messenger Award. This was an amazing achievement and once again, we all felt extremely proud, knowing the impact that they have on a daily basis to support children and families in our school.

There have also been sporting successes with our footballers winning a trophy earlier in the year and an increase in participation in competitive events. Our children have represented the school in an excellent manner, constantly demonstrating our values and we have had very positive feedback from our own staff and those in other settings regarding their excellent conduct. Some children also sang at the O2 Arena as part of the Young Voices show.

Unfortunately at this time of the year, we sometimes have to say our goodbyes. Not least to our Year 6 children and we wish them every success as they take their next big step in their life journey onto secondary school. It is also time to say goodbye to Mr Adam Flannery. He has been an amazing asset to our team and in particular to our Nursery children but he now has a wonderful opportunity to use his experience and expertise to develop others.  I am sure you will join us in wishing him every success for his future career.

We must also say a temporary goodbye to Mr Chantler. He has taken a year’s secondment to work in another TKAT school in order to continue his professional development. We know he will keep in close contact and we look forward to him returning in September 2017. We are excited about this opportunity for him and wish him all the best for next year.

Thank you parents for reading with your children, supporting school events, providing costumes for special dress up days, making sure your children look super smart in their uniforms and for caring about what we are trying to achieve and provide for your children. We look forward to working with you next year so we can continue to make a difference.

Have a wonderful summer break and we look forward to seeing you all back on Monday 5th September.

    Mr J Manclark
