Welcome to the year group information page. All information for the year group will be displayed on this central page. This is a great way to see all the fantastic learning taking place throughout the year.
PE/Games
Your child will need a full PE kit on Wednesdays and Thursdays. This should consist of: T-Shirt, shorts, plimsolls or sports shoes. Please also include a jumper and jogging bottoms for colder weather.

EducationCity can be used at home as a way of getting involved with your child's schoolwork. All homework set matches what your child has been learning in school. This provides the opportunity to continue their learning in the evenings, weekends and over the holidays to combat holiday learning loss. Lots of the activities are now tablet friendly.

We studied this piece of music. We really enjoyed the animation that accompanied the piece of music.
Science
We have been looking at the life cycle of a human. We ordered the stages: baby, toddler, child, teenager, adult then elderly. We discussed the needs of each stage and what humans can do during the stages.
Why is it called a cycle? Which stage do you think is the best?

We have been exploring money. This money song covers 1p, 2p, 5p and 10p coins.
How to Catch a Dragon
In literacy, we have been using this book as a stimulus for our 'warning story' unit.
Year 2 were visited by 3 PCSO's as they have been thinking about their future aspirations. They did their finger prints, tried on uniform, used a UV light and even went in the Police Car! They had an amazing time!

How to write a non-chronological animal report - African Elephants
In literacy we imitated a non-chronological report on a Brachiosaurus. Then we innovated one on cats. Next we will be creating our own. This video gives you some ideas on what you need to include in your report.
Year 2 were very lucky to be visited by The Roundabout Pop-Up Theatre to watch 'How to Spot an Alien'. The pupils enjoyed the show. Thank you for coming to us on this windy day.
