Term 4- Growth and Change

Growth and Changes

Spring is upon us! Welcome to a new term of exciting indoor and outdoor learnings! We are going to be focusing on animals and their babies along with seeing how the environment around us changes with the different seasons. During this term we are focusing our topic around the books, Jasper’s Beanstalk, Monkey Puzzle and Dora’s Eggs.

Jasper’s Beanstalk

The children enjoyed reading this story, we had so many activities we could do around Jasper’s beanstalk. During this topic we had limited numbers due to COVID but we made the most fun out of everyday! The children explored different materials, we done some baking/exploring what different foods we could use to create our own edible beanstalks (this was a very enjoyable task for our little ones). The children become very good at being able to re-tell the story. We also took the time to visit our pond area to see what changes we could see as spring is fast approaching!

World book day 2021

This year for world book day, as a school our theme was Alice in wonderland, our children came dressed up in their costumes and we changed the nursery into Alice in wonderland theme for the day. Our children made hats and their own jam sandwiches for our mad hatters tea party! We played pin the smile on the Cheshire Cat which really amused the children. Here are some photos of our day.

Comic Relief 2021

This year for comic relief the theme was superhero’s, we turned our nursery into Superhero HQ for the day and the children loved it! Lots of our children came dressed as their favourite superhero and they joined in with different creative craft and construction activities that we had planned for them.

Dora’s Eggs and Easter Celebration
Over the last two weeks we have been focusing on our story Dora’s Eggs and looking at why we celebrate Easter. The children have had lots of craft fun, they made some special cards for their families, explored colour mixing using different tools and have also done lots of baking which the children really enjoy!
We ended the term with our very own Easter bonnet parade where the children got to show off the fabulous hats that they made at home.
