Exciting times ahead! As from September 2015 all children at Drapers will be learning Spanish as a Modern Foreign Language!
Our aim is to teach outstanding MFL lessons across the school from Nursery to Year 6.
Spanish lessons will be individually tailored to each year group following the National Curriculum for MFL, the Scheme of Work from La Jolie Ronde and a wide variety of media resources to enhance progress and to make possible outstanding learning in every single lesson.
This will be supplemented wherever possible with short sessions within the routine class environment. Children will also use greetings and short phrases in different languages that we will be learning through 'Language of the term' across the school.
It will give us a chance to celebrate our cultural differences and the wide range of languages we all bring into our school.
We know how important it is for our children's future to have the opportunity to speak a variety of languages, giving them a great skill to access to the current global market and making possible a real life approach in all our lessons as a main purpose.
