Story writing - Today I would like you to write a story based on the picture below.

I would like you to think about the characters in the picture. Who is the villain and hero? Are they friends? Are they working together? Are they fighting for something? Are they playing?

 

Focus of today’s writing

I would like you to include setting a description and character descriptions.
Remember

Powerful adjectives – iridescent, translucent.
similes – The water sparkled like diamonds.
metaphors- The giant is a skyscraper.
 

Tips for parents
Simile – A comparison of two things using the words as or like.
The sky was as blue as a baby’s eye.

Metaphor – A comparison when something is said to be something else.
My mum is a teddy bear.

Create a character based on the film 'Inside out'

Your character can be completely original or based on yourself. 

Key points to include -

  Your character needs to have 5 key emotions in their brain.
  Each emotion needs to be named and have a brief explanation to why you chose it. 

  Your character must have a minimum of 4 key personality islands based on their likes and interests.

  • Introduction paragraph

i.e Have you ever wondered which animals make the best  pets ? if so, ...

  • A paragraph supporting your argument.

i.e Many people believe dogs make the best pets because ...

  • A paragraph highlighting reasons against your opinion but each reason followed but a counter argument.
